Placements of broiler chicks
in the Commonwealth during
the week ending Jan. 9 totaled
756,000. The placements in
creased 10 percent from the
previous week, and 19 percent
from one year ago.
Settings for broiler chicks
totaled 1,376,000, an increase
of 1 percent from the previous
week and 16 percent from a
year earlier. The current 3-
week total of eggs set increas
ed 20 percent from last year.
