PUNCH
Greeting your guests with a refreshing
drink harbored in a pretty punch bowl is
the nicest way to make them feel at home.
And it is a wonderful way to break the ice
at a party.
Eggnog is an especially favored drink
for the Christmas New Year holiday sea
son. Busy homemakers can either make egg
nog at home or buy ready to serve dairy
eggnog, to use “as is” or season to taste.
Some delightful variations include Lemon
Eggnog; Frosted Eggnog, topped with mounds
of whipped cream; Eggnog Supreme, mixed
with sparkling ginger ale and fluffy whipped
cream; Pineapple Eggnog, with the flavor
extra of tangy pineapple juice, and Hot
SPESNOB
Spiced Eggnog,
LEMON EGGNOG
8 eggs
1 cup sugar
Vi teaspoon salt
1 cup lemon juice
% teaspoon grated lemon

and salt; blend well. Add milk
and mix thoroughly. Chill.
Just before serving, whip
cream and fold in vanilla. Top
eggnog with mounds of whip
ped cream. 15-20 servings.
EGGNOG SUPREME
Va cup sugar
2 cups half and half
4 egg yolks, beaten
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
2 cups ginger ale, chilled
V 4 cup whipping cream
Combine sugar, half and half
and egg yolks. Beat well. Fold
in egg whites. Add ginger ale
and mix. Whip cream until
stiff. Fold into eggnog. Serve
immediately. 12 servings.
QUICKIE VERSION
2 cups dairy eggnog
2 cups ginger ale, chilled
Vz cup whipping cream,
whipped
Mix together eggnog and
ginger ale. Fold in whipped
cream. Serve immediately.

HOT CALIFORNIA EGGNOG
8 eggs, separated
I cup sugar
5 cups fresh orange juice
3 cups heavy cream
Grated orange peel
Freshly ground nutmeg or
mace
Beat egg yolks until thick
and lemon colored; add % cup
sugar gradually, beating con
tinually. Heat orange juice to
just below boiling; gradually
pour over beaten yolks, mix
ing well. Beat egg whites in
large bowl until they hold in
soft peaks; gradually beat in
remaining sugar, until whites
