Club Roundup held last Tues
day at Hostetler’s Banquet

Donegal 4-H Club the grand
championship was won by .Joe
Wivell, Columbia RD 1.
Wivell, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Clyde Wivell, was also
high scorer in the record book
competition.

The birds were judged by
Prof. Carl Dossin, Poultry Spe
cialist from Penn State Uni
versity. Each of the thirteen
contestants entered two birds
in the roundup, and each
brought one extra to be sold
after the supply of contest
birds had been sold.
The competing oven-ready
beauties sold for a straight 65
cents per pound and the ex
tras brought 60 cents. The
Mount Joy Rotary Club mem
bers, sponsors of the roundup,
hosted the 4-H’ers for lunch
and later purchased all of the
capons.
