The group voted a donation to
the County Farm Women’s
project foi the Child Develop
ment Center.

A home talent show was the
special feature of the Society
of Farm Women 14 meeting
Wednesday afternoon at the
home of Mrs Paul Longeneck
er, Strasburg Rl.
Included were piano solos
by Mrs Warren Hershey and
Donny Herr, a poem read by
Ann Newswanger and quota
tions about women read by
Elsie Metzler.
Five women joined in chor
us to sing two numbers. They
were Mrs Esther Landis, Mrs
Anna Mane Groff, Mrs. Mari
anne Rohier, Mrs. Helen Her
shey and Mrs. Sarah Denling
er. Mrs Edith Metzler pre
sented a reading of her own
composition about the club
Mrs Gladys Esbenshade,
president, and her daughter,
Bara, gave a piano duet, am?
Mrs. Jean Thomas and her
two sons, Warren and Everett,
presented selections on brass
instruments.
The next meeting will be a
family picnic, on Wednesday,
Aug. 12 at the West Lampeter
Community Park.

Society 10 Hears
Talk On Safety
A talk on traffic safety was
presented by 0. D. Shipley,
commissioner of Traffic and
Safety, Harrisburg, at Satur
day’s meeting of Farm Wom
en’s Society 10 at the home of
Mrs. Noah R. Getz, Lancas
ter R 3.
The women voted a contri
bution of $5O to the Child De
velopment Center, and $5 to
Children’s Service.
Entertainment was provided
by Mrs E. Lerena Miller, Dills
burg, on- the calliope which
was built by Noah Getz.
Plans were made for the
Aug. 1 meeting at Meadow
Hills dining room, and for a
trip to the Sterling Forest, in
New York State, on Oct. 7.
Society 25 To Hove
Picnic On Sunday
Society of Farai Women 25
will hold a family picnic on
Sunday at Buchmiller Park. A
picnic lunch will be served
at noontime Each member is
asked to bring a covered dish
item, sandwiches and their
own table service. Games will
be held for the children with
the special events committee
in charge.
