Grilling Less Tender Steaks
Many retailers are merchan-
dising steaks of all kinds be-
cause of the popularity of out-
door eating. Less tender steaks
may be grilled if they are of
U. S Choice grade or com-
parable quality. The best of the
less tender steaks would be
the arm chuck or the top mus-
cle of the round, sold as top
round. It still may be best to
first tenderize these steaks be-
fore grilling either by mechan-
ical means or with a commer-
cial enzyme preparation,
Fruit Values Limited
There’s no great news in the
strawberry market yet. Hot,
dry weather has effected the
quality of berries from nearby
states. The first Pennsylvania
berries should begin to appear
this week and peak during the
third week of June in many
areas of the State.
