Merry Stitchers 4-H Sewing Club Elects The Manheim Township “Merry Stitchers” 4-H sewing club elected Miss Sue Weidman piesident at a recent meeting. Other officers elected were vice president, Annette Long; secretaiy, Eileen Landis; trea surer, Avernl Royer; song leader, Kathy McCalmont; news reporter, Susan Snavely, and activity leader, Mary Ellen Kettering. Adult leaders of the club are Mrs. Herbert Royer, Mrs. Hen ry Kettering, Mrs. Ray Ober, and Mrs. Fred Snavely. Mis. Doris Thomas, extension home economist, spoke on cotton materials. Next meeting of the club will be held on June 9 at 1 30 pm. in the Neffsville Junior High School. GERANIUMS NEED LIGHT Direct sunlight promotes the vigorous growth of geraniums and the plants will bloom con tinually, says Penn State ex tension floriculture specialists. Geraniums need several hours of direct sunlight every day. The plants grow well in south windows, hut may be placed in east or west windows provid ing the sun will shine on them a few hours each day.
