Weekly Broiler Report Hatcherymen in the Keystone State placed 862,000 chicks for commercial broiler production during the week, .according to the [Pennsylvania Crop Report ing Service. This was an in tense of 20 per cent over the previous week and 10 per cent above the comparable a year ago. The 10-week total was 7 per cent below a year earlier. Egg set, totaling 1,228,000, were 6 per cent above a week ago but 7 per cent below the compar able period last year. The 3- week total was 3 per cent be low a year ago. Insbiipments of broiler-type chicks for the past 10 weeks totaled 401,000 or 33 per cent above last year. Outshipments of ,1,288,000 were down 35 per cent. Egg settings in the 22 major producing states totaled 60,- 167,000, 1 per cent albove a week: earlier, tout 1 per cent toe low last year. The 3-week total was 1 per cent below a year ago.
