PEACH MERINGUE CAKE Vera McCauley 1 cup flour IVz teaspoons double acting baking powder Vz teaspoon salt Vz cup sugar 3 egg yolks Vz cup top milk V* cup shortening 1 teaspoon vanilla 6-9 canned peach halves All ingredients must be at room temperature 'Line 9x9x2- mch pan with waxed paper that extends 1 inch beyond nm Sift together dry ingredients and add remaining cake in giedients Beat 2 minutes at low speed until batter is well blended Pour into lined pans. Add eggs; beat in strawberry preserves. Mix flour and spices. Use small amount of flour mixture on raisins and pecans Add flour mixture to creamed mixture Add raisins and pecans. Lastly add cold cof fee with the soda stirred into it. Add flavorings. Grease a tube pan, cut a piece of waxed paper for bottom, and grease that Pour batter in and thump to get out air.
