Here is what one farmer has to say about his experiences with SX-11 for hay; For the finest quality hay, SX-I1 should be cut at about waist-level. At this stage of growth, SX-1I is near maximum protein level, and, is > tops in appetite appeal. The use of a crimper or crusher is. important to aid in drying. Although this field of SX-11 was not fertilized after r the first cutting, DeKalb recommends that after each chopping or har vesting of a crop a top dressing of 30 to 70 pounds of “N”" be added. On May 20th 1 planted my SX-11 at about 30 lbs. per acre. It was very dry, but by the first week in July, I was greenchopping. On August 15tk I cut it again, only this time for hay. I crushed right utter the mower and bal ed it two days later. The yield was about 2 tons per acre and quality was \ ery good. 1 didn’t think cattle would prefer SX-11 hay to other good hay, but they do. I believe it now after sea lug it, I intend to use more SX-11, because ol Its versatility in uses and its tremendous yielding ability.” Signed Henry Reifsnlder, Sept. 9, 19C3 | | tor pasture Q for green cliopj
