A semi-annual survey was
underway today to determine
livestock and poultry numbers
on Pennsylvania farms.
Aural and star route mail
carriers are distributing 26,-
000 cards at random to farm
ers throughout the state. The
farmers are asked to report
the number of cattle, milk
cows, hogs, sheep and chickens,
and to return the cards pro
mptly to the carrier

hit by summer drought and
untimely spring and autumn
frosts, have revised the yield
downward to 43.7 million
bushels, the.Rennsylvama Crop
Reporting Service said today.

tobacco yields on November 1
were unchanged from a month
earlier. The PCRS noted, how
ever, that late tobacco is not
cubing so fast as usual in
sheds because of unfavorable
drying weather.
