Crop Designates
Collection Areas
The week of November 16
through 27 has been designat
ed “Harvest Week” by the lo
cal Christian Overseas Relief
Piogram (CROP).
Areas in different parts of
the county will be designated
for collection of corn during
the week. The corn will be pro
cessed at the area and sold
foi cash, according to the
Reverend Murray L. Wagner,
publicity chairman Specified
areas for corn collection will
be announced at a later date,
he added.
No corn collected will be
sent overseas, but -all receipts
for the corn will be used to
process government foods and
ship them to areas of need
throughout the world
The Reverend Wagner said
that some enthusiastic contn

butors are already asltlfagVfor
directions to the collection
areas. He estimatedthat 1 ten
dollars .would deliver more
than one and one half tons of
essential food directly to con
sumers by the volunteers who
"await this evidence of Lan
caster County’s true thanks
giving.” . -
The Rev. Mr. Wagner point
ed out that checks also may
be directed to CROP or sent
to CROP county treasurer,
Norman Bowers, Landisville
National Bank, or to the Lan
caster County Council of
Churches, 129 E. Orange St
Although sponsored by the
Council of Churches, CROP is
being enthusiastically accepted
by non-member denominations
and by the Mennonite Central
Committee, the Rev. Wag
ner said.
Large trucks will be located
in each specified area to han
dle contributions of corn and
Nelson Weaver has volunteer
ed several for the purpose.
The Rev. Mr. Wagner said
that questions or comments on
the program may be directed
to the Rev. Edward Steiner,
Paradise, chairman of the Lan
caster County CROP board, or
William Shenk, Lancaster R 6.
Final plans were made for the
collection of corn and cash at
a meeting with area super
visor this week at the home
of Shenk.

DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH Mill
YOUR COWS CAN REALLY GIVE?
A cow is a factory. She eats grass, hay, silage, grain and Wayne
Feeds. She makes milk. Each cow-factory has a certain bred-ia
capacity. When Bossy’s assembly line isn’t running at full ca<
pacity, she isn’t making as much money for you as she should.
■ The way to find out if she’s really running at full capacity
is to put more feed in and see if you get more milk out. FEED
HER ACCORDING TO WHAT SHE COULD GIVE TOMORROW,
instead of what she gave yesterday, ■ Wayne can show you
how to balance these larger feed intakes so that your cows
can handle them. You feed the rumen bacteria too, so
they can work harder and digest more roughage. ■ See
us now for the Wayne Program that will work for you...
