OVER 450 HEAD OF FEEDER CALVES were
weighed and tagged on Thursday for Friday’s annual
sale at the Lancaster Union Stockyards.; Here Tom
King, livestock extension specialist from the Pennsyl
vania State University, left, is aided by Robert Heil
bron, president of the Lancaster Livestock Exchange,
grade a steer on the scales. King and Arthur Mac-
Arthur, a cattleman and former herdsman at Okla
homa A&M University, graded all cattle for the sale.
In addition to the 450 calves from 25 breeders in
Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, members of
the Lancaster Livestock Exchange consigned 180 head
of good and. choice calves. Calves were Angus, Here
ford, Shorthorn, Charolaise-Angus crosses, and Angus-
