The girls, Cynthia Bucher,
Lititz R 2 and Virginia Wivell,
Columbia R.l won a blue rib
bon for deboning a chicken.
They competed with thirteen
states. They represented Penn
sylvania.
The girls first appeared in
the competition of 4-H demon
stration at Penn Manor High
School where they received first
place that entitled them to the
District meet at Allentown
where they again placed first.
Pennsylvania State University
held the state contest and the
girls ranked first again. .
The girls were given a tour
through the State Capital and
met the Governor when they
were feted at a banquet at the
Penn Hams Hotel where the
award was given.
Cynthia is the daughter of
Mr. and, Mrs. Wilhs, Bucher
and is a senior at the Manheim
Central High School. Virginia
is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Clyde* Wivell and is, a senior
at Donegal High School.
