Price Continues
To Decline
Delmarva reported prices of
14 5 to 15.6 for 782,900 head
at farms during the 24 hour
period ending 10 30 Friday
morning.
These prices represented a
decline of more than a quarter
cent over the previous day and
include the sale of 392,300
head sold at Thursday’s auc
tion in Seltoyville, Del. De
mand was only fair tor light
auction offerings.
Estimated slaughter for the
week end was 820,000 head
compared to the 925,000 head
slaughtered last week end by
eastern shore processors.
The Delmarva broiler-feed
ratio, for the week ending
September 6 was steady at
30. Broilers averaged 15 40
during the week and 20 per
cent mash cost the grower
$lO2 05 per ton. The ratio tor
the compilable week a year
ago was 3 8 when broilers
averaged 17 89 and mash cost
$95 31 per ton
