Cut in shortening using a pastry blender or fork, until the mixture is the consistency of .corn meal and small peas. Sprinkle cold water, a little at a time, over flour mixture. Pour into unbaked pastry shell. Bake in a hot oven (425 de grees) for 'l5 minutes. Mean while, blend together the cream cheese, eggs, and % cup sugar. Remove pie from oven at end of 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to moderate (350 degrees). Spoon cream cheese mixture over top of fruit filling Return pie to oven and con tinue baking for about 30 min utes. Cool. Spread sour cream over top of pie. Garnish with unblanched sliced almonds. Refrigerate until ready to serve. NOTE 1 Two baking tempera tures suggested because of the cheese topping.
