Prices Up On Broilers
Live broiler prices at the
Lancaster Poultry Center this
week dropped almost a full
cent but volume nearly doubled
from last week and all lots on
offer were sold
At the April 25 auction
19'lots including 100,850 head
of broilers changed hands at
prices ranging from 15 5 to
17.7 tor a sale average of 15.-
67. Last week’s average was
16.53 when only 52,000 head
were sold. ■
Three lots of pullets includ
ing 6,860 head sold at 20 1
to >22.3, and a'.lot of '2,400
'heavy 'fowl brought 17 'cents a
pound.
The complete sale offered
and sold 110,100 head in 23
lots.

The 'Delmarva broiler-feed
ratio for the week ending
April 19 was down one point
to 3.2. Broilers during the
week averaged 16.12 per pound
and’ mash cost the grower
$99.31 per ton.
