LANCASTER POULTRY CENTER Broilers Gain Strength Broilers gained some streng th this week at the Lancaster Poultry Center as 114,200 head in 20 lots sold at prices ranging from 17.0 to 18.0 tor a sale average of 17.36 The average of the previous week’s sale was 16 93. The top lot at the February 28 auction was 4.000 White mountains at nine weeks, three days consigned by D. 13. Horn and Co. (Richard Baker trow er), and purchased by Can B. Risser. Three lots including 1,700 roasters brought 24 8 to 20 1, while 5,700 pullets in two lots sold for 21.8 and 21 9. A lot of 700 heavy fowl brought 210 and 5,200 leghorn fowl in two lots sold for 9.6. Only 700 birds in two lots failed to sell. The complete sale offered 128,200 head m 30 lots and sold 127,000 head in 28 lots.
