Gleaton, Social Securi ty District Manager in Lancas ter, today reminded farmers ■who operate farms on a calen dar year basis that their so cial security self-employment returns must be filed and the tax paid by April 15 th. How ever, Gleaton pointed out that self-employed farmers who are required to file estimated tax returns and have not done so -by January 15, 1963, must file the final return and pay the social security tax by February 15, 1963. Gleaton explained that farm ers and farm opeiators file their returns on Form 1040 and 1040 P. Form 1040 is the general tax report form used by city and farm people alike Form 1040 F, the second form, is especially for farmers But both must be completed and filed by self-employed farmers. Unlike other self-employed pei sons, self-employed farmers have certain options in report ing their earnings. These op tions are (1) If gross farm income is; more than $lBOO and the net earnings are $l2OO or more, then the actual amount of net earnings must be re ported. The new addition will fea ture completely automatic handling of bulk feed from railroad hopper cars, through mixing and grinding to bulk truck for delivery to the farm. The modernization will in crease the storage capacity tor protein ingredients at the mill by 100 tons. The out bins for bulk truck loading will have a capacity of 96 tons.
