A total of 122,000 head of broilers in 19 lots crossed the block at prices ranging from 17.6 to 18.1 for a sale average of 17.- 94. The sale average last week stood at 16 36. Two lots sold at the top figure. Jack Bucher had 3,- 600 White Vantress at nine weeks and two days purchased by Carl B. Risser The other lot, 1,000 White Vantress at nine weeks was consigned by Donald Frank and bought by Martin M Brendle. Four lots of roasters brought 24.3 to 25 for the 2,575 head, while 4,600 pullets in two lots brought 23 to 23 9. One lot of 350 leghorn fowl brought 9.2 and two lots of heavy fowl sold for 15 8 and 16.1 for the 1,250 head The complete October 25 auction offered and sold 130,- 935 head in 28 lots. With practically no plants on the Eastern Shore operat ing on Saturday, estimated slaughter in Delvnarva was 623.000 head compared to the 699.000 head last week end. Delmarva reported prices of 16 S to IS at farms for 813,- 000 head including 426,700 head sold at the Eastern Shore Poultry Producers Exchange, iSelbyville, Del. The Delmarva broiler-feed ratio for the week ending Oct ober 19 was up three points from the previous week at 3.6.
