Thirty two Berks County
poultrymen spent the day
Tuesday in touring Lancaster
County as guests of the local
Guernsey Ass’n

Annual Awards
The Lancaster County Guer
nsey Breeders' Association has
announced that they yyill offer
eeyeral additional awards at
their annual meeting.
James B Lefeyer secretary
of the association said that
Guernsey breeders in the coun
ty wishing to apply for any of
the awards should contact him
before October 15 since some
oi the records are hard to ob
tain.
In order to qualify for any
of the prizes, the dairyman
itnust be an owner of Regis
tered Guernseys The cow und
er consideration must carry a
calf at least 175 days during
the record period, and .onlv
3D 5 day DHIA records will
be considered.
The awards will be for High
Herd Butterfat for herds over
3D and under 30 cows. Life
time production of both milk
and fat of individual cows
which have milked during the
cm rent year, and the high lac
tation records completed dur
ing the current year tor both
milk and butterfat These
awards will be made to two
year olds, three \ear olds, and
cows four yeais old and o»ei
