Beef And Swine Sale At Solanco Is Huge Success Nine Angus steers sold for an average of $44 per hund red weight last Friday at the Solanco Fair FFA Baby Beef and hog sale Average price of the 32 show hogs was $34 per huiidi edweight including the champion pen of two which brought top price of $42 50 pel cwt. Joseph Bowman of the Quarry ville IGA store bought the top pen of hogs as well as the champion steer which he bid m at $65 per cwt. The reserve champion pen of two hogs matched the champ ions’ cents a pound and were purchased by Samuel Hippy, West Willow Rl. Hil debrand Meats of Strasburg bought the reserve champion steer for 57V2 cents a pound The champion steer, shown bv William Wilson of Quarry- Mile R 3, weighed 1,062 while the reserve champion was shown by John Frev Quanyiille R 2, and weighed 902 pounds. Robert Groff, Peach Bottom showed Clieste. Whites to the championshin while the Beikshues in sec ond place weie exhibited by Kenneth Rutt, Quairyville R 2 6!
