CARL HAISLER, FRUIT SPECIALIST from the
Pennsylvania State University, left, examines a box of
strawberries presented him by Leslie Witmer. The ber
ries took first place in the Ehzabethtown-Donegal 4-H
strawberry roundup sponsored by the Elizabethtown
Kiwams Club Monday night. The berries were the ex
hibit of Leslie’s sister Gwendolen, Mt Joy Rl, who was
not present for the picture. This prize box of berries
was sold at auction to the Kiwams club president for
$3 00. The other three boxes in the winning exhibit
brought $2.00 per box. The four boxes exhibited by
Leslie brought $2 00 each in the spirited bidding Hais
ler was judge of the roundup.
