A peisonal conviction that intelligent fertilization pays off economically in extra yield, protein, dollars and cents. (2.) Application of an unusual amount of Ortho 20-20-0 on an experimental 42 acre plot. The test was split. Hr cooperation with Ortho, the grower applied 800 pounds of 20-20-0 to one acre of alfalfa after the first cutting. At the same time he spread 200 pounds of the same Ortho fertilizer to another adjoining 41 acre plot. After the fourth cutting, be applied another 350 pounds of Ortho 14-14-14 to the entire 42 acres. Results: The experimental test acre broke the yield barrier. A record 12.32 tons of hay were produced from it. This yield returned $196.15 after deducting fertilization and baling costs. The acreage which received the lighter application returned $169.24 per acre after costs. The point: You can probably match this record and break the yield barrier right here in our area. As your Ortho dealer, we can provide an important part—the same fertilizer as he used. But, because your soil and growing conditions are dif ferent, our recommendations would be modified—customized ,to fit your particular needs. Come in and let’s discuss how to break your yield barrier and achieve the very best dollar return from your soil. P. L. ROHRER & BRO., INC.
