bush before Department of Agriculture workers chopped down the bush and sp
rayed the stump with chemical to prevent re-growth Left to right are Richard
Witmer, Max M Smith and C. Abram Snyder The barberry eradication is a
federal-state agriculture department project earned out with matching funds by
the county governments Department of agriculture wox-kmen, under the direction
ot Clyde McGinnett, Intercourse, are can /assmg the county to locate all native
barberry bushes and eradicate them. The bushes are immediate host for wheat
rust The program is being carried on m all Pennsylvania counties in which the
county commissioners have made match ng funds available
