Prices Are Off
About A Cent
Broiler prices dropped
slightly more than ane cent
in Delmarva during the 24-
hour period ending 10:30
Friday morning. Offerings
were light and demand was
weak. Prices ranged from
1610 to 17.00 on 616,000
head at farms.
Estimated slaughter by
Eastern Shore processors for
the week end was 629,000
head compared with the 774,-
000 head last week end.
Demand for ready to cook
poultry was irregular rang
ing from slow to fair. Prac
tically no plants p armed to
be m operation today.
The Delmarva broiler-feed
ratio for the week ending
December 8 was up 3 points
at 3.3. Broilers averaged 15.-
.17 per pound and ma h cost
P-e grower $91.50 per ton.
The rise in the ratio was a
.ejection of the rise in live
prices from the 13 72 the
previous week
The broiler-feed ratio in
Delmarva for the correspond
ng week last year was 3 7
when broilers brought 15 80
and mash cost $86.10 per
ton.
