Deimarva reported prices
were approximately one cent
h.gher during the 24 hour
period ending 10:30 Friday
morning. Prices of 13 to 15
on 695,800 head were report
ed.
Supplies were moderate to
short of the increased de
mand. With most of the east
ern shore processors not op
erating today the estimated
slaughter for the week end
was 835,900 head compared
with 949,000 head last week
end.
The Deimarva broiler-feed
ratio for the week ending on
October 13 was 2.9 as broil
ers averaged 12 88 per pound
and 20% mash cost the
grower $BB 95 per ton. The
ratio for the corresponding
week a year ago was 3.8
when broilers averaged 16.50
and mash cost $86.80 per
ton.
