Live prices averaged ap proximately Vi cent lower, but some strength developed during the final half of the auction sale. Estimated slaughter for the week end by eastern shore processors was 909,000 head compared with the 782,000 head last weekend. The Delmarva broiler-feed rafo for the week ending on September 1 was down one point from the previous week at 27. Live broilers averaged 12.62 per pound & mash cost $93 52 per ton. The ratio for the correspond ing week a year ago was 3 7 when broilers averaged 17 22 and mash cost $92 00 per ton Six months ago the ratio was 3 8. Merceded Rambler May, a Holstein cow owned by Earl L Umble, Atslen, produced 14 237 lbs. milk and 502 lbs. but + erfat in 336 days on twice daily milking as a 4 year-old.
