Such symptoms always ap pear suddenly, they often ap pear violently An animal’s head drops He staggers or falls unconscious The ani mal’s breathing is labored and his temperature hovers between a scorcing 105 and 110 degrees When you see any or all of these symptoms, here is what should be done for your am ma’s First, move the animal out of the sun to a cool lo cation Pour cold water ov er his entire body, using a hose, buckets or the most practical means available. - Place ice packs over the animals’ head and wrap them around his four feet This will hasten cooling and help prevent Lamimtis. And, as soon as the body temperature of the animal approches nor mal, reduce applications o£ water and ice packs and call your veterinarian He will have to decide if intravenous injection is required to save the animal’s life Feed Company Adds Serviceman Mr Ned Sitler, Jr has re cently joined the sales force of D E Horn & Co, Inc, York, Pa , manufacturers oL Hornco Feeds Mr Siller is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Uni versity, having received his; B S deg ree from the College of Agriculture, Department, of Animal Husbandry While attending college Mr Siller was a member of the live stock judging team participa- NED SITLER ting in shows at Kansasas City, Chicago, and Spring fie’d, Mass.
