CHERRY SQUARES
1 cup rolled oats, quick or
old-fashioned
ij cup sifted enriched
flour
y o cup brown sugar
V> cup butter or margarine
13 cherries
6 ounces (6 -squares) semi
sweet chocolate, melted
Heat oven to moderate
(350 degrees). Combine oats
flour and brown sugar Cut
in butter until mixture re
sembles coarse crumbs. Press
into ungreased 8-inch square
pan. Bake in preheated oven
15 to 20 minutes. While
warm, cut into 25 squares.
Melt chocolate over very
low heat, (may use double
boiler). Cut cherries in half
drain well. Place squares on
waxed paper; put half cher
ry on each; top„with 1 tea
spoon melted chocolate Re
frigerate Makes 25 squares

2 cups pecan
Salt
Heat oven to moderate
(350 degrees). Melt marga
rine in a shallow baking
