Slightly Higher
Broiler-fryer prices in the
Delmarva area ranged ap
proximately cent higher
during the 24 hour period
ending 10:30 Friday morning
Prices reported and number
of head purchased at farms
ranged from 14 50 to 16.70
for 649,000 head. Offerings
were somewhat less than
adequate.
Estimated slaughter by
eastern shore processors this
week end is 564,100 head
compared to the 655,000
head last weekend.
The Delmarva broiler-feed
ratio for the week ending on
December 16 was steady
with the previous week at-3 7
when broilers averaged 16.-17
cents per pound and mash
cost $B6 30 per ton The ra
tio for the comparable week
a year ago was 4.4 when
broilers were 20.32 and
mash cost $93.25 per ton.
