Live prices continued to
advance in Delmarva during
the 24 hour period ending at
1030 Friday morning as av
ailable offerings cleared rea
dily.
Purchases and prices at
farms reported during the
period included 631,900 head
at prices of 15.86-16.50.
Estimated slaughter for to
day and Saturday is 705,000
head compared to the 707,-
000 head last week end.
The Delmarva broiler-feed
ratio for the week ending on
Sept. 30 was down one point
to 3.5. Broilers averaged 15.-
28 and mash cost $88.37 per
ton. Six months ago the ra
tio was 3.9 when broilers
made J.B 11 and mash cost
$92.72 per ton. During the
same week a year ago, the
ratio stood at 3.4 wim brou
ers bringing 14.29 and-mash
costing $85.80 per ton.
