Lampeter, New Holland Fairs
To Be Staged Next Week
Fair season swings into
the third round next week
with two more county exhi
bitions schedu l ed to get un
der way with programs Wed
nesday evening.
The New Holland Farmers
Fair wJI open its 29th cele
bration with a parade begin
ning at 7 p.m sponsored by
the Young Men’s Business
League
The West Lampeter Com
munity Fair win open its
celebration at 730 with a
concert by the Lampeter-
Strasburg High Schoo. band
The feature of the New
Holland Exhibition this year
will be the Corn, Hay and
Tobacco shows Exhibitors
can win up to $l5O for one
sample of hay, up to $55 00
for a lath of tobacco, and up
to $25 00 for 10 ears of corn.
Exhibits will be accepted un
til 9 pm. Tuesday evening
Prior to the official open
ing of the fairs, much of the
judging will have been com
pleted All the agriculture

will be judged beginning at
8:30 Wednesday morning
with the FFA fat lambs
schedu ed to be judged at
4:00 p.m
At Lampeter, judging of
the Swine exhibits will get
underway at 100 p.m. Wed
nesday with the baby beef
show schedu’ed to follow as
soon as the swine judging is.

A feature of the evening
program at Lampeter on
Wednesday is the Tractor
Trouble Shooting contest in
which contestants will try
to get their tractors started
and across the finish line. '
Thursday will see the
judging of swine at 1 00 p m.
followed by the beef show at
New HoVand. The show
swine wffl be sold at auction
at the close of judging.
