Experiment Station at Col
umbia shows that air-condi
tioned dairy shelters may be
profitable for dairymen if av
erage daily temperatures
and relative humidity are ex
cessive for 60 days or more
each year The Missouri stu
dies show that in a well-insul
ated, 100-cow, stall-type
dairy barn, air conditioning
could prevent a 10-per-cent
decline in milk production
on days when outside tem
perature is 80 degrees and
the relative humidity higher
than 75 per cent.
