Delmarva reported prices
for the 24 hour period end
ing at 10:30 Friday on 679-
100 head ranging from 16.60
to 19.10
Estimated slaughter for
the week end was 520,000
head compared to 487,000
head last week end.
The Delmarva broiler-feed
ratio for the week ending
January 8 was 3 7 with br
oilers averaging 16 95 and
mash costing $9172 a ton.
The ratio last week was up
to 3 9 with broilers at 18 30
and mash at $93 96.
Georgia reported prices of
17 to 18 at the farm for
1,454,000 head. Estimated
slaughter for the week end
is 1,648,000 head.
Philadelphia
Notes Increase
Production was reported
steady to slightly higher. At
Philadelphia increases were
noted to be five to 15 per
cent above a year ago lev
els. Bottling demand mostly
good to fair. Excess surplus
noted particularly at Phila
delphia and Boston, moved
to separators. ,
Prices at New York for
bottling quality milk ran
ged from $5.40 to 550 per
40 quart unit.
