Purpose of the giant hand
out of the 40,000 eggs, each
enclosed in a plastic bag, was
to promote the “golden good
ness of eggs.” This will be
the largest egg promotion at

State Department of Agricul
ture had its pilot study of
the Certified Egg program in

Star Poultry
Farmer Named
Henry Verity, Jr., a young
New Jersey poultryman who
raises 4,000 started pullets
each year, manages his own
laying flock and operates
three farms, was named as
“Star Poultry Farmer of the
Northeast” at the annual ex
position of the Northeastern
Poultry Producers Council
(Neppco-)-.

to the young Pittstown, N J.,
poultryman at a special aw
ards dinner in the Penn Har
ris Hotel on Tuesday
A recent graduate of North
Huntington Regional High
School, Verity was selected
by the judges over other fa
rm youths from 11 of the 14
states that comprise the area
served by the Council Each
of the 11 competitors for the
coveted title had previously
been named as the outstand
ing poultry boy of the year
by his respective state.
Pennsylvania’s winner
competing for the northeas
tern title was Jay F. Don
moyer, Fredericksburg.
