It pays to feed PIONEER! Dairymen in every state east of the
Mississippi have found that PIONEER increases both milk and fat
production... and frequently, at the same time, reduces feeding costs.
PIONEER also helps promote improved herd health—reduces breed
mg and calving troubles.
There’s a PIONEER dairy feed to suit your needs exactly. Try
PIONEER. You’ll find out why dairymen stick with PIONEER for
years and years. It’s been the outstanding dairy feed for over fifty years?

Use the lining of a coat or
suit, jacket ao a guide to qual
ity, suggests Mrs. Mae B.
Barton, Penn State extension
clothing specialist, 'ihe lin
ing should be firmly and
smoothly attached and made
of a closely woven, color
fast fabric. Lining seams
should fall in the same pla
ces as the seams of the out
er fabric. There should be a
pleat at least three-fourths
inch deep in the lining
ross the back of a garment
The pleat will allow for ease.

day with a 35 and 20 bid
and reported picking up sev
eral crops General got into
the act with a bid of 32 and
20 cents, but apparently did
not move very many crops.
By Tuesday buyers were
steadily picking up some leaf
in most sections of the coun
ty at reported-prices of 30
through, 30 and 30, and 35
and 20 There seemed to be
a price to cover a’most any
situation and the buyers
were watching closely for
shed burn.
At the middle of the week
the activity rose to fever
pitch with all the major
companies in the field. The
prcie seemed pretty stable
at 35 and 20. One company
reportedly made a few offers
of 30 through, but went back
to the 35 and 20 figure when
they met farmer resistance.
Even in the face of high
labor costs, many farmers
feel that with the “c’ean”
crop of this season the sorted
price would pay for the ex
tra work involved.
Feeling among farmers
generally was that the week
end would see most of the
1959 crop in the hands of
the buyers, making this one
of the earliest buying seas
ons in the history of the
County.

Modern science has come
up with an answer to the
iron rust in water supply
problem. Henry Wooding,
Penn State extension agri
cultural engineer, says that
plastic pipe is a good re
placement for badly corrod
ed or rusty metal pipe, and
it can be installed rather
easily.
