1957, the Nutrition Council’s
Management Committee star
ted their painstaking task of
developing these recommen
dations. During the interven
ing two years they have con
ducted a voluminous corres
pondence of questionnaires
and proposals.
They checked with industry
specialists four times, and
with the U. S Department of
Agriculture and poultry de
partment heads o f Land-
Grant Colleges and Experi
ment Stations on two separ
ate occasions ”
The pattern of thorough
checking and obtaining ag
reement has been followed in
d eve l oping each of the ten
sets of Uniform Management
Recommendations issued by
the AFMA Nutrition Council
during the past 10 years.
