District Show Lancaster County entries picked up one breed champ ionship, two breed reserve championships and nine class championships in Thursday’s Southeast District 4-H Dairy Show. Karl Bender, Landisville, exhibited his senior Guern sey calf to Reserve Champ ionship of the breed, to start the county’s purple placings during morning showing. In the afternoon, Ralph Edward Harnish 111, Christ iana R 1, took Breed Cham pionship of Ayrshires with liis senior yearling. Young Harnish was fol lowed into the winner’s cir cle by cousin Marilyn R. Harnish, Quarryville RD 2, who led her three-year-old Ayshire to Reserve Champ ion honors. The Harnish animals then teamed with another pair of senior yearlings, owned by James C. Brubaker, Lititz R. D. D, and Gerald Kreider, of Quarryville RD 2, to take the county group title. Bender, with H. Robert Mumma, Manheim RD 1, and William Ferguson, Kirk wood, - copped Guernsey County Group honors. Other counties’ honors in cluded: York—one champion and two reserves; Cumber land—rchampion arid reserve in Jerseys; Adams— reserve Holstein; Lebanon— Champ ion Holstein, and Berks champion in Milking Short horns. The one-day show had 244 entries from the 15 counties in the district. All blue rib bon winners are eligible for entry to the State 4-H finals in Harrisburg on Sept. 17.
