Improving Home Grounds
Course Set By Penn State
'The annual short course,
“Improving the Home Grou
nds,” will be presented at
Perm State,' July 6 to 10.
This year's course has’been
designed to concentrate on
the latest techniques and ma
terials for those who want to
learn how to solve mainten
ance and other home groun
ds landscaping problems.
The program should be of
special interest to home own
ers, garden club members,
and nurserymen concerned
with residential landscaping.
Topics to be considered by
the students include tree id
entification - and selection,
plant materials, annuals and
perennials, shrubs and vines,
planting, pruning and fertil
ization, patio arrangements,
insect control, principles of
lawn establishment and main
tenance, disease control on
