Well-Fed Plants Assist
In Spider Mite Control
When plants are supplied
with amounts of nitrogen,
phosphorous or potassium
providing good growth, spi
der mites feeding on these
plants are easier to kill with
tv ilathion
Mites also are easier to
] ill when feeding on plants
;ixat have received a low
level of phosphorous But
mites are more difficult to
kill when too much or not
enough nitrogen or potassi
um are supplied. -
This is the result of pre
liminary experiments con
ducted at USDA Agricultur
al Research Center, Belts
ville, Md., with two-spotted
spider mites on pole-lima
beans This may mean insect
and mite control could be
easier and more difficult de
pending upon the nutrition
ox the plants.
POSSIBLE APPLICATION
of this information might be

The hidden excitement that
people feel when receiving a
long distance call, is always
apparent with small fry.
They seem to bubble over
when the call comes through.
Everyone appreciates being

is with a long distance
telephone call.
Long distance telephone
service is economical, too.
Especially if you call after
