Lancaster Phone EX 2-5722 15th New Holland Sales Stables Dairy Show and Sale Is Success The 15th Annual New Holland Sales Stable’s Dairy Show and Sale resulted in average bids of $582 per cow for the first 20 cows exhibited in the all-day Wednes day ' affair, according John Gin grich, auction manager. A total of 250 dairy cows were sold m the auction following the show, which saw 160 purebred and grade animals competing. Highest price of the auction was brought by a three-year-old purebred Holstein, shown by Elam K. Burkholder, New Hol land. The cow justified her top standing in breed by bringing $B5O for Burkholder. Purchaser was Joe Stoltzfus, Morgantown. The second place Holstein, a grade cow shown by Ira Shenk, Hershey, was purchased by Al fred Albright, Landisburg, for $6OO Third place itdlstem, exhibited by Hostetter Brothers, Annville, was bought by Henry Lapp, Gor donville, for $530.
