terest questions are welcome.
Q. What is a company’s re
sponsibility in Pennsylvania to
ward an employe injured in an
industrial accident 9 Should the
injury permanently incapacitate
toe employe, could he sue 9 Is
there a statute of limitations 9
A. In Pennsylvania an em
ployer has an obligation under
<he Workmen’s Compensation Act
to insure himself or furnish proof
of financial ability to pay the
claims of employes injured in the
course of their employment. In
turn, employes who suffer in
juries as a result of their employ
ment are limited in their claims
against their employer to the
benefits provided for in the Com
pensation Act.
This act sets forth schedules
of compensation for the different
types of injuries and the differ

had been reared by her maternal
grandparents since she was one
year old. If anything should hap
pen to the child’s father, who
would become the child’s legal
guardian the stepmother or
the grandparents?
A. It is assumed that you are
referring in your question to
whom would be given the cus-
tody of the child at the death of
her natural father. As between
the stepmother and the child’s
grandparents, this would be a
matter for the court to decide,
and the child would be placed m
the custody of the person whom
the court feels would be able to
best care for the child, the inter
est of the child being the court’s
sole concern.
