State Laying Flock Number
Gain Slightly From 1957 Low

million head, the State Depart
ment of Agriculture said today
This will be the second small
est number of farm chickens rais
ed since first estimates were made
in 1924 Last year was the small
est number on record
A Pennsylvania Crop Report
