or more, and almost 300,000 work

The dairy cow is the most effi
cient producer of calcium of any

times as much as the hen its near
est competitor in terms of con
verting calcium intake to cal
cium produced.

Supply Adequate; Trading Light
In Major Broiler Producing Areas ;
The broiler market continued
steady in most of the major pro
ducing areas this week. The Dei
marva market was quiet with
trading light and a considerable
portion at undetermined pries
Prices of 19V4 cents and 19 Vi
cents were quoted on 211,100
head in Monday’s trade.
The Delmarva broiler-feed ra
tio held steady at 3.7 with broil
ers averaging 18.42 cents and
feed selling for $lOO 02 a ton.
Last year the ratio stood at 4 5
when broilers brought 21 85 cents
and feed was selling for $97.06 a
ton.
