Some Holiday Distraction Noted
In Early Broiler Sales Reports
PHILADELPHIA, July 1
The broiler market at the begin
ning of the week showed general
weakness and unsettled feeling,
brcguht on mostly by the prospect
of a short week due to the holi
day.
Last week the Delmarva broil
er-feed ratio showed a two point
up turn, despite nearly steady
prices for broilers. A $3 62 a ton
decrease in feed prices caused
the ratio increase.
The ratio is nearly steady with
that of a year ago
Here is how the market looked
in the major broiler and fryer
producer areas on Tuesday
DELMARVA Quiet Trading very

to 21'/2 cents Of 156,400 head, six per
cent were at 21 cents, less than one
per cent at 21 11, 26 per cent at 21 32,
nine per cent at 21 40, and 44 per cent
