large and medium sizes, offerings
were adequate, as in most in
stances demand was just fair to
only slightly improved. Quality
was prime interest in most cases.
Offerings of small however were
ample to in excess of current re
quirements and generally pressed
for learance even at lower prices.

Broiler Demand Good; Ratio
Stands at 4.4, Up Two Point's
PHILADELPHIA, June 10
Demand for broiler chickens was
generally good across the nation
at the first of this week accord
mg to reports received by the
federal-state market news serv
ice
The broiler-feed ratio took a
turn for the better last week, go
ing up two points. This reflected
a .75 cent raise in the price for
live birds that more than off-set
a 34 cent a ton rise in feed costs.
The ratio stands at 4 4 as com
pared with 4 6a year ago and 4 2
last week.
Here is the condition of the
market and sales prices in the
major broiler producing areas on
Tuesday.
DELMARVA: Market quiet Trading

with 68 per cent undetermined Most
sales were at 21 cents.
GEORGIA: Offerings generally ade
quate to slightly short of needs at a
