    Cat, Dog Food
Sales Stopped
By Foods Bureau
Orders to stop sale on three
brands of canned dog food and
one of cat food were issued to
day by the Pennsylvania Depart
ment of Agriculture against
stores in Northwestern Pennsyl
vania
According to Delmar K Myers,
Acting Director, Bureau of Foods
and Chemistry, the four brands of
yet foods were found to be defi
cient in fat content when tested
at the Department Laboratory in
Harrisburg
“The presence of only one fifth
of the amount of fat guaranteed
by the manufacturer represents
serious misbranding”, Myers said
“Purchaseis are entitled to re
ceive the full amount of nutri
tional materials which the label
guarantees to be piesent”
During 1957 nearly 3,200
samples of animal feed were test
ed by the Bureau of Foods and
Chemistry. The large maionty
