Broilers Show Strength Early
In Week with Supply Generally Short
PHILADELPHIA, June 3
Bi oiler prices took a definite turn
upward throughout the nation at
the beginning of the week. Dp
niand was generally good with
supplies lagging
Delmarva buyers were paying
22 and 23 cents a pound for birds
at the Tuesday auction at the
Eastern Shore Poultry Growers
Exchange This trend is expected
to continue throughout the week.
The up-turn in prices last week
resulted in the broiler-feed ratio
climbing by two points, in spite
cf a consideiable rise in feed
costs
The ratio now stands at 4 2 with
the price of feed being $lOl6B
a ton and the price of broilers
21 51 cents a pound.
