14—Lancaster Farming, Friday, Feb, 28, 1958 New Insecticide For Deciduous Trees Registered Chjmagro Corporation, New Nork N.Y, has announced the registration of “GUTHION” 12V2 per cent wettable powder by the US. Department of Agriculture for use on deciduous fruits. Registration of Guthion is of special interest to apply growers, for it introduces a significant new concept in the conti ol of apple in sect pests. Because it effectively controls practicaly al insects which attack apples, the use of Guthion virtually eliminates the necessity of employing three or four different chemicals, in com bination or alone, throughout the season. Normally, the insect control program required to produce qual ity fruit is complicated and often requires extra applications of spe cial insecticides to keep certain insects under control. Chemagro entomologists believe that Gu thion will eliminate the need for these additional expensive spray applications. They feel that fruit growers will be able to produce a clean, high quality crop by using only Gu thion and a suitable fungicide throughout the season Guthion is being recommended fer control of 11 of the most im portant insect pests on apples and I\ AN M MARI IN', INC BLUE BALL, PA Ne,\ Holland ELgin 4 2112 Terre Hill Hlllcrest 5 3455 PREMIER MORE PORK PLAN Here's help MORE PORK that will bring you bigger profits!
