Myfcrs announced that the next
meeting of the AIC will be held
next summer on the campus of
the Pennsylvania State Univer
sity. He said this would be a good
opportunity for parents to accom
pany their youth to the meeting to
learn more about cooperatives.
Thomas Mahlen, district voca
tional agriculture supervisor, was
introduced. He said that youth
programs in rural areas tend to
keep down the incidence of ju
vinal delinquency. He said that
he knew of no other organization
or corporation that took such an
interest in rural youth.
Victor Plastow, associate coun
ty agent, who works mostly with
the 4-H club program in the coun
ty, also commended the coopera
tive council for the program.
Participation in the youth pro
gram is open to any farm boy or
girl participating in some form of
organized program. This includes
FFA, 4-H work and the Farm
Scout program.
The program for 1958 will be
essentially the same as last year
-with the prize trip being to the
AIC annual meeting at Penn
State.
